Jue (jew-eh) is a tripod wine vessel with spouted mouth and was the most prevalent ritual bronze vessel of the Shang Dynasty (1766-1122 BC). It functioned as a cup for drinking millet-fermented beverages and was usually found in tombs and burial sites along with the cylindrical wine-drinking vessel known as the Gu. The two vessels were most likely used together in ceremonies.
