The seal is carved with a lion teasing a ball using the stone Shoushanshi from the Shoushan Village of Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Shoushanshi has the longest history being used for seal carving and was excavated since the South Dynasty (AD 445). And among the over one hundred different varieties of Shoushanshi, Tianhuangshi is recognized as the best.
