Xiang Yun Sha is a very unique silk fabric since it will be aging as time goes by. It was first produced centuries ago in Foshan city in southern China's Guangdong Province, which remains the country's primary producer of this unique material. Because its production requires intense sunlight, the fabric can only be produced from May through November during daytime. The worm silk is first dyed with the juice from the root of a kudzu vine, then it is covered with the mineral-rich mud only found at the bottom of the ponds of the Pearl River Delta. Finally, it is laid out in huge sheets to dry in the sun.

Since the entire process is done by hand and takes half a month to complete, production levels are very low. And since the longer the silk is preserved, the better it looks and feels, many liken Xiang Yun Sha to a finely aged wine - some even compare it to gold.

Xiang Yun Sha is very light and cool, easily dried, not easy to wrinkle, and because kudzu vine is a medicinal herb which also has the functions of disinfection, mold killing, and odors elimination.
