The seal is carved with the God of Longevity using the stone Vermilion Shoushanshi from the Shoushan Village of Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Shoushanshi has the longest history being used for seal carving and was excavated since the South Dynasty (AD 445). And among the over one hundred different varieties of Shoushanshi, Tianhuangshi is recognized as the best.

In China, the God of Longevity is called "Shoulao" and he is one of the triad of Chinese gods, along with the Gods of Salaries and Happiness. Shoulao always has the face of a kind old man with a protuberant cranium, long flowing beard and white eyebrows. Usually he is seen leaning on a gnarled stick with the peach of immortality in his hand. Benevolent and generous, Shoulao as a symbol of life brings longevity and healthiness to mankind.
